(For my sins) I used to work in the village of New Lanark, a beautiful collection of mill buildings that now serve as a tourist attraction and some flats. It always surprised me that so few of my colleagues ever wandered up to the spectacular falls, some of the most impressive in Britain. With all that water at mans' disposal it is hardly surprising that a Hydro electric building nestles closely to the old mill buildings and fills the air with a dull thrum for some way around.
This section of piping is enormous, easily having a diameter over a meter and a half.
